Searching for a Vacuum Cleaner that will Last?
As a mom with 4 kids, one challenge that I have is that my carpets always serves as the storage for every type of dirt that I have to find a way to get off. it may need to be done weekly. Try living with 4 kids, cats and a dog! I have used a couple of variety of types of carpet shampooers, along with using rentals and professional services. The Hoover SteamVac Dual V to me proves to be the device that can meet the demands of my busy life.
When I used other cleaners, I have tried to skimp on the investment, only to realize that that the cleaning attachment didn’t come with it (and my couches are as difficult as the carpet), or the tank wasn’t big enough, or the cord too short… but the Hoover Steam Vac Dual V is different. It includes a 12-amp carpet cleaner; a very powerful device! The rotating brushes function together to get the dirt off and then groom my carpets. The Hoover SteamVac Dual V simply means the technology of this machine produces equal suction as it moves across, so the edges prove to be as clean as the center. This definitely is a time saver.
The direct heat in the Hoover SteamVac Dual V is also nice, as some cleaners don’t even have a heating feature. Anyone who has any experience with real cleaning knows that hot water is key. There are three different modes, as well: a spill pick up (that is handy), gentle scrub for those occasions when you are light cleaning, and power scrub. Guess which one mine stays set on? Another appeal is the fact that it is conveniently sized. It’s 20X12 inches, and has a 12 month warranty. The hose is 8’ long, and it includes a powered handheld piece for fabrics and steps. Heat in a vacuum compared to air?
I just read that flasks are made of silver-glass with a vacuum inside the walls to slow the heat transfer from/to the contents of the flask. But does the vacuum help that much? Would it have made a big difference if they had put air in the walls instead of the vacuum?
The difference is huge. Whenever there is matter, heat can transfer from molecule to molecule contact, either directly, called conduction, or by contact with a liquid or gas, called convection. If you take these away by having a vacuum, then the only heat transfer method left is radiation, which the silver on the flask helps to reduce.
