Question about internal fan in Mac Mini?
I have a Mac Mini which Ive had for maybe a little less than a year and it has always seem very quiet. and then suddenly the internal fan started going in at full speed. I checked the activity monitor and everything seems normal. all processes are running fine. There is basically NO need for the fans to be on. there is enough space in the back so the fan can "breathe". the air is cool so there is no overheating. also i have looked around in the web but can not find anything. I have not done a software upgrade or a hardware upgrade so I dont know what it is. so basically my question is... is there any way I can make the fans stop making so much noise, such as slowing them down? I already tried resetting the SMC and it didnt work.
It's most likely just your computer getting old. And yes, even Macs get old. Haha. I'm thinking youll need to either replace the fan or the processor. The processor might be getting old therefore creating more heat than usual or it might be the fan getting old and rickidy. Either way is possible.
